Value-Added ingredients since it’s first day

Since its first day, Vaniköy has been converting the harvest of Anatolian fertile agriculture lands into value-added plant-based ingredients to solve the nutritional challenges of today and tomorrow.
1935
Vaniköy Hayrettin Süleymangil Eshamlı Commandite Company was founded by Hayrettin and Haydar Süleymangil brothers in 1935. Süleymangil family migrated from Albania and they had a significant background in halva making.
1935
1940
The base floor of Recai Efendi Mansion was used as an administrative office. The company built a production facility in its garden and carried out its production here. The corn oil factory was built on the land next to the Üryanizade Mosque in Kuzguncuk and became operational in 1940. This facility in Kuzguncuk was closed in 1967. With its closure, corn oil production continued at the Recai Efendi Mansion.
1940
1970s
Glucose and starch are the two main ingredients of halva. Two brothers decided to build a glucose and starch production facility serving the food industry. After a while, adding corn oil to their portfolio opened a door to the consumer market. With its print and radio advertisements in the 1970s, Vaniköy’s brand awareness increased to a significant level.

Since its foundation, Vaniköy has been supplying glucose and starch derivatives to Turkey’s leading food manufacturers such as Ülker, Kent, Ender Chocolate, Bozkurt Halva, and Eti.
1970s
1986
The name of the company was changed to “Vaniköy Corn Products” in 1986. The founding shares of the company were distributed as 10% Ülker, 30% Kent, and 60% Vaniköy.

In 1986, construction of the new factory was started in Pendik Şeyhli Village. After the Bosphorus Zoning Directorate decided to demolish the factory building next to the Bosphorus, operations in the factory were stopped and production was moved to Pendik. First tanker shipments were started from that facility.
1986
1989
In December 1989, Cargill acquired the company.
1989
1998
When the production capacity of Pendik became insufficient, a new factory investment decision was taken. In 1998, the construction of this new facility began in Orhangazi. In 2000, Orhangazi Corn Processing Factory was inaugurated.

Since its first day, Vaniköy has been converting the harvest of Anatolian fertile agriculture lands into value-added plant-based ingredients to solve the nutritional challenges of today and tomorrow.
